About Lancaster

At 2,500 feet above sea level and surrounded by beautiful mountains, Lancaster has a mild climate throughout most of the year. Lancaster has over 600 acres of developed and planned parkland, including sports facilities, playground and picnic areas, and a popular dog park. Lancaster is also home to the Essex House Hotel—a vintage 1920s celebrity mansion converted into a museum—and the Lancaster Aerospace Walk of Honor.

Lancaster City Park hosts the California Poppy Festival each spring, which brings close to 60,000 locals and visitors from around the world together to celebrate the beautiful poppies. "Celebrate Downtown Lancaster" is a street fair and farmers' market, held several times throughout the summer.
